About Glucose Test

Glucose is also referred to as blood sugar, blood glucose, or urine glucose. The purpose to check the glucose is to analyze if the sugar level in the blood is maintained at a required level. The glucose test also help the doctor to analyze and diagnose the parameters such as prediabetes, diabetes, high level of glucose (hyperglycemia), low level of glucose (hypoglycemia), and glucose level in the urine.

In general, the glucose test in blood is recommended if:

  • You are 45 years of age
  • Have some symptoms of diabetes
  • You are pregnant
  • You have some symptoms for high or low level of glucose
  • In some occasions, the urine glucose test is done as part of a urine test.
