, I am a chronic major depressive patient since last 20 years. I am currently taking 50 mg paroxetine, 300 mg lamictal and buspin 10 mg. Since my first major depressive episode in 1995 when I experienced severe short term memory issues not resolved much till date, eventhouh depression improved. Do you think rtms can resolve my short-term memory issues as medications did not resolve my short-term memory issues even after long time, really causing lot of discomfort in my day to day personal and official activities. Kindly advise. Regards ramesh, hyderabad.

Dear lybrate-user, it is nice to know that your depression improved and you are regular on your tablets. Cognitive remediation therapy can be tried either online or with a clinical psychologist who is trained into it. Rtms may not help much, since it does not reach the memory areas. Rtms will not cause further memory deficits.
