Yes it is safe. You need not necessarily put on weight just because you are taking protein powder.

Do a lot of swinging on using your arms. Play basket ball. Use door ways also and keep swinging using arms. Take dhals eggs regularly.

Weight depends on height take a lot of protein from milk curd dhal or egg and little bit more fat like ghee or butter extra 2 tsp.
