What are the home remedies for urticaria?

Urticaria is also referred to as hives and is a common skin disorder caused by allergic reactions in one's skin. In some cases, the causes may be non-allergic too. It can cause itchy bumps and swelling that can be either red or skin-colored. They can also cause a burning sensation in the affected area and can cause muscle soreness. There are many medications available, but these can be restricted by some simple home remedies.

  1. Cold Compress:

A cold compress is the best way to keep the urticaria symptoms under control. The temperature can help shrink the blood vessels and can block further swelling and burning sensations. To use this, put some ice cubes in a thin towel and place it on the affected area for about 10 minutes. You can use it as necessary for a few days till the symptoms subsidize. Try to keep cool things near you.

  2. Apple Cider Vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar is also an effective way to keep such conditions under check. It can also help fight bacterial or viral infections that could be causing the problems. To use it, add a cup of raw apple cider vinegar to a tub of warm water. Soak in it for 30 minutes daily. You can even mix apple cider vinegar to equal portions of water and apply it to the affected area for better results.

  3. Baking Soda:

Baking soda helps relieve the itching sensation drastically. It also prevents further irritation and inflammation. To prepare it, mix a part of baking soda and water, apply it to the affected area. You can even add baking soda to your bath by mixing it into a bucket or tub of water. Never use this in its raw format and always mix it with water before applying.

  4. Aloevera:

Aloe vera has anti-inflammatory properties which help in soothing hives. Try to put raw aloe vera gel on the affected area daily for some minutes. If your skin is allergic to aloe vera avoid using it. Using aloe vera lotion includes the most effective and easy home remedy for urticaria.
