Benefits of yoga for acid reflux

Acid reflux is a condition wherein there is excessive acid production in the stomach moves to the esophagus. This condition can commonly occur in people who consume unhealthy food, are under stress, consume alcohol, and smoke regularly. Usually, the people suffering from this condition purchase an over the counter antacid to obtain relief from the condition. However, if anyone wants to opt for a natural solution for alleviating the problem acid reflux then Yoga is the correct answer.

Daily practice of yoga not only stimulates the functioning of the digestive system but it also provides the necessary strength as well. There are asanas in yoga which improve the blood circulation of the digestive organs which provides instant relief from acidity. Press the palms on the ground and try to lift the legs upwards. Then try to bend them over your head such that the toes touch the ground. Try to hold the pose for a minute.

Camel Pose

This yoga pose stimulates the abdominal organs and muscles. It also improves the flexibility of the neck and chest. Start by sitting on the knees and bending backwards. Hold your ankles with your hands and bend your neck backwards as far as you can. Try to hold the pose for 15 seconds and breathe evenly.

Diamond Pose

This is a yoga pose which when practiced after a meal boosts digestion. It relieves constipation and acid reflux. Start by sitting on the floor and tuck the feet under your hips. Try to keep the spine straight. Breathe deep, even breaths for about 5 minutes.

Wind Removing Pose

It massages the abdominal organs and relieves gastrointestinal disorders. Start by lying flat on the back, keeping the legs straight. Inhale deeply and bend the knees and bring them towards your chest. Make sure that the thighs touch your stomach. Hug the knees tightly and lock the fingers. Touch your knee with the tip of the nose. Try to hold this position for 20-30 seconds.

Cat Stretch Pose

This yoga pose helps improves blood circulation and relieves acid reflux by massaging the digestive organs. Start on your all fours. Look up as you inhale and lift your hips upwards and push the stomach to the ground. Try to hold this pose for a few seconds. As you drop the chin, exhale deeply and arch the back. Try to hold this pose for a few seconds.
