Complex Gastrointestinal Surgeries
I’m doctor Neeraj Chaudhary, consultant in liver transplant and gastrointestinal surgery, apart from lever transplantation we do complex gastrointestinal surgeries like resection of lever tumours, resection of pancreatic cancers, bile duct cancers, and complex gastrointestinal surgeries.
A new community what we have added to our list of surgeries as laparoscopic surgeries the surgeries we have already mentioned we are doing it laparoscopically. Laparoscopic and key hole surgery, there are several benefits associated with it such as less pain, early discharge from the hospital and as well as the early return of the patient to work. We also have a dedicated trauma care unit for patients who need permanent or temporary stoma bag application, a dedicated unit serves them, we are also performing surgeries such as resection of low rectalcancer so as to avoid permanent stoma for booking an appointment with me you can contact Lybrate
I’m doctor Neeraj Chaudhary. I’m basically a lever Surgent specialized in the field of liver transplantation and complex gastrointestinal surgeries. We in India have huge burden of lever diseases mainly because of hepatitis B or C viruses, second there is huge population in India with alcohol consumption and high amount of alcohol consumption leads to liver failure and end-stage liver disease, third and very important cause is fatty liver disease which if ignored can lead to liver failure, the incident of hepatics cellular cancer is also on the rise.
Basically, because of all these problems we have a huge lever disease burden in India, there is a huge scope of liver transplantation in India because of the huge disease burden the number of liver transplantation which is currently being performed in India is approximately 1500per year which is approximately 10 times less what we should have been performing, the most of this transplantation what we perform nowadays in northern India are living donor liver transplantation mainly because of no cadaver organs or brain dead organs available in northern India,
The success rate of liver transplantation is around 95% and 1 year survival that is to the tune of 90% so what is the future of liver transplantation, future of liver transplantation and liver diseases basically they lie on preventing liver diseases and early detection of liver diseases rather than going to the point of lever transplantation so what I would advise is stay healthy avoid alcohol, exercises, go to hepatologist or a liver specialist for early identification of the diseases.
