I am Dr. Harshit Gupta. I am plastic and cosmetic surgeon and the Director of Delight Clinic at Gurgaon. Today we will be talking about gynecomastia or more commonly known as man boobs. Gynaecomastia is a very common problem mainly in young adults. It starts at around 13 to 14 years of age sometimes spontaneously regresses by around 16 to 17 years of age. If it does not spontaneously regress then we need to do a surgical procedure.
The procedure is basically liposuction. The patient does not require to be admitted to the hospital or clinic and surgery is done under local anaesthesia. Surgical time is of about 1 and a half hour and the patient can go immediately after the procedure. The results are generally very good.
