Get your ft3, ft4 and tsh done. Total t3 may be confusing, anyways if it is low, you may be suffering form hyperthyroidisim and you need treatment for it!

Thyroid has nothing to do with weight gain! moreover, don't presume, get your thyroid profile tested, if you really have thyroid. It can be cured by medicines! 1.
