Hi, Recently this week I visited a homeopathic doctor as I had motion issues. I use to have my motions once in 3 or 4 days for which I was advised by the homeopathic doctor to take half spoon of fenugreek seeds in the night with warm water. The very next day I got to know that I'm pregnant. Can you pls advise whether should I stop consuming fenugreek seeds or is it safe during pregnancy. Please respond on priority. Thanks allot.

it must be noted that there are very few modern data on their safety and efficacy. In large doses, fenugreek may cause birth-defects because of its teratogenic potential. It would be prudent to avoid fenugreek supplementation during pregnancy.Fenugreek seeds can cause internal bleeding.Skin irritation and allergy have also been reported with fenugreek. Severe allergy symptoms include chest pain, facial swelling, and difficulty breathing or swallowing. Diarrhea, indigestion, heartburn, gas, bloating and urine odor are other possible side effects of fenugreek. No problem for what you have taken but better to avoid now.
