Thank you for your question. The problem you describe is very common during the lactation period. This is because of the hormonal changes that take place during lactation. It causes the pH of your vagina to change and this encourages growth of yeast like organisms. The only home remedies that can help in addition to the medication given by your gynaecologist are related to diet and nutrition. You need to reduce or stop taking sugary foods and bakery products too. Your nutritionist or dietician can help you with additional guidelines. It is also best to get checked for diabetes as recurring yeast infections can be because of this. If you are anaemic or nutritionally deficient your body will find it difficult to fight infections. Please see your doctor for relevant tests and treatment. There are several misleading advertisements on the internet and TV which you need to ignore. There is no evidence for the use of yoghurt or vinegar in the management of recurrent candidiasis and unsupervised use can lead to severe health problems. So please follow your doctors advise and do not resort to home remedies unless suggested by your doctor with appropriate follow up. Best wishes.
