Hi I am getting stomach pain past 3 months I have done ultrasound abdomen test in that my gall bladder having stone 6-10 mm one of the doctor said need to remove gall bladder is there any alternative process to remove please help me.

Hi gall stones if not presenting with any symptoms can be ignored. But any gall stone which is symptomatic needs to be removed. As in your case your gall stones are symptomatic and therefore they should be removed. The preffered treatment is removal of gall bladder itself. Gal bladder can be removed either via open surgery that is open cholecystectomy or can be removed via laproscopy that is called as laproscopic cholecystectomy or more commonly called as lap chole. Its a very common procedure these days and a competent surgeon will be able to do it without any complications. Lap chole is the preffered method now. So I would advice you to listen to your consulting surgeons advice and make a well informed decision for the same. Best wishes!
