Hi, my father is suffering from hernia below abdomen. symptoms are when he stands and walks some ball is expanded and when he lays or sleeps it is normal. During full health check up, doc said it is hernia, need suggestion - is it important to get operated? He is heart patient NO diabetes or BP problem.

Yes hernia needs to be operated if patient want to, before this any any condition which make patient to strain like chronic cough or chronic constipation or straining in micturition should be treated. Heart patient can also be operated under care of cardiologist.
