What is the difference between actions of metformin and glimepride. Are these to be taken before food or after food and why?

Glimipride is secretagog, it increases release of insulin from pancreas where as metformin is antihyperglycemic it facilitate utilisation of sugar in muscle and checks glucose output from liver, improves insulin sensitivity.
