I am in 4th month of pregnancy and have thyroid with normal TSH. Our gynaecologist is asking to go from triple marker test but already 3 ultrasound have been done. Is it necessary to go for triple marker test when double marker test reports are normal? Is it ok to change gyne at 5th month?

See its always best to undergo triple marker test because it will give a clear idea about the intra uterine defects and any other abnormalities, USG will not show if any defect is their in the baby ,so I suggest you to get your triple marker test.

There are situations when triple marker test needs to be done even if double marker test is normal. In such a case, I would recommend that you discuss your concerns with your present Obgyn. Taking a second opinion is your right and you should have no reservations in doing so. Only if you find your present gynaecologist non-receptive to your concerns should you consider changing doctors. Yes it is possible to change treating doctors midway. Just make sure you have all your reports available with you to share with your new doctor.
