Sir, I have taken ofloxacin tablet for the past 5 days for infection. I have right side stomach pain. Yesterday I went to doctor. Doctor asked to take scan .I have taken scan but there is no major problem. But I have an doubt that I am having appendicitis. I think that due to intake of ofloxacin, the scan report didn't show the presence of appendicitis is it possible.

Hello lybrate-user. Ultrasound scan is not a very good modality for appendicitis. CT scan is the gold standard. I do not rely completely on scans or lab reports and I believe in my clinical judgement. Symptoms of appendicitis are pain in right lower abdomen which is usually continuous and often severe with vomiting, nausea and fever. Pt also loses appetite due to infection. Since you were taking antibiotics for 5 DAYS the infection could have been subsided. As per your complains it does not look like appendicitis. Its better if you be in touch with your treating doctor and continue medicines as per his/her advice. Thanks.
