I have done unprotected sex with prostitute. Post 13 days I have gone through RNA PCR for hiv 1 and hiv 2 that was undetectable. Since 40 days I am feeling sick and stomach is upset. Again 29 days after I have done HIV DUO And again after 51 days I have gone through hiv duo combo. Both were unreactive. Still I am sick my fever goes upto 99F Is my result conclusive.

Hello lybrate-user. I have read through your question and can understand your concern. Most likely you don't have HIV infection. After contracting the infection there is sometimes a three month window period during which the test comes negative. I would suggest you to repeat the test once more after one month. Hi! Welcome to Lybrate! 1) You have undertaken HIV RNA just at borderline. If infected, it takes around 11-14 days for virus to be detected. 2) Negative HIV test results by fourth generation test at 29 and 51 day is quite assuring. 95% of the people who are infected develops antibodies by 4-6 weeks and almost all who are infected develops HIV antibodies by 3 months. 3) The Recommendations are to get tested by serology at four weeks and if the result is Negative get a confirmatory HIV Antibody test at three months of last unprotected exposure.
