Dear lybrate-user I think you have shin splints which is bone pain due to excessive training or lack of fitness. So go slow and apply ice for 20 minutes every hour and if still not cured then you need detailed evaluation and imaging to come to a diagnosis. Once diagnosis is made we can treat you accordingly.

Hi lybrate-user, you seem to be suffering from Runner's knee. Runner?s knee is a condition of common overuse. It often happens when the kneecap is out of alignment which wears down the cartilage around the kneecap. Several other factors can also lead to pain felt by runner?s knee. If you're in pain that lasts for more than a couple weeks (or it's severe), your best bet is to pay a visit to the doctor. You'll also likely need a knee X-ray to accurately diagnose and potentially an MRI to check for damage, which is not something you can do on your own. Your doctor will be able to rule out other causes of knee pain and make sure there is nothing else triggering your symptoms. Step 2: Ice, Elevate, Medicate Ice: Put an ice pack, gel pack, or package of frozen vegetables wrapped in a cloth on the area every three to four hours for up to 20 minutes at a time. Elevate: Raise the knee on a pillow when you sit or lie down. Medicate: Time for ibuprofen! Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines ? also known as NSAIDs (much easier to remember). Many patients have a particular over-the-counter pain reliever they really like, so any of those three would do. As long as the medication is either ibuprofen or naproxen, it will be helpful in reducing the symptoms of runner's knee. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Dear lybrate-user you may shin pain, whenever you do over training or beyond your limits then there is micro fractures at the front of your lower leg. Stop running and use ICE massage at least 4-5 times in a day, wrap crape Bandage around painful area.
