I am 19 year old n I was suffering from intense hair fall. My hair density was also reduced. My doctor recommended me to use finalo (1 mg each day) I have been using it for 1.25 months and not experiencing any kind of side effect. Can it show it's side effects later? And how effective is this medicine for hair loss?

There are many reasons associated with hairfall such as genetics, stress, hormonal imbalance , poor diet etc.Try to find out the exact cause so that the treatment can be suggested accordingly. Add adequate amount of protein to your diet. Include skimmed milk, cottage cheese, lentils in diet. Vitamin C, Zinc and Vitamin B are other important nutrients for great hair health. So include lot of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains in your daily diet. Amla juice will also help to control hair loss. Follow a good hair care - Oiling your hair with a mixture of oils like olive, sesame, coconut and castor oil keeps provides moisture to your hair and prevent them from drying and breakage. Once in a week apply a good hair mask. You can mix and prepare different types of masks using green tea, olive oil, milk, gooseberry, etc. You can also start with zinc and biotin supplements. Finalo is used by adult men to treat male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) in the middle of the scalp or at the crown. The active ingredient finasteride works by preventing the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body to slow hair loss and promote hair regrowth.It should be taken as directed by a doctor, usually once per day. The medication may take up to 3 months before the effectiveness is noticed. Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor as abruptly stopping the medication may cause the loss of all newly regrown hair within 1 year.
