Hello Doctors, I am 30 Years old Female, Have 1 baby of 2.6 Years and underwent 2 DNC's. Last one was 9 months ago. Now I have been diagnosed with Umbilical Hernia. Doctor suggested not to underwent for correction surgery rather first complete all my deliveries if we plan for any in future and then have a correction And there are chances of correction failure post next pregnancy as well. Till next pregnancy I should take precautionary measures to stop its growth. I request your suggestion on the same. Shall I have the correction done or wait until I have 1 more baby? Please advise

Yes your Dr. is correct. It's better you wait till you complete your family and then get hernia repair though safe gap between repair and next pregnancy ranges between minimum 6 months to 1 year. Also it depends as what kind of mesh used and whether it's high or low placed repair and any trigger factors.

Your doctor has suggested very correctly. So take a chance for second baby and then go for correction surgery. Till then avoid heavy lifting, coughing and have balanced diet to prevent constipation. All these 3 factors increase herniation.
