My husband is an alcoholic, though he drinks once or twice a week. I tried taking him to AA Meetings but to no avail. He thinks he can stop drinking on his own but he can not. He had been to a de addiction centre two years back. But a month later he resumed drinking. Do not know what to do now ?

Please communicate with a psychiatrist. He would identify in which stage of addiction is he in! whether precontemplation or contemplation. Or having problems in maintainance of alcohol free stage. Then he can undergo step by step motivation enhancement therapy. Along with few anticraving medications. Which would be a wholistic step towards deaddiction. Not only giving pt to rehabs will be of much use though.
