You would have had SOM (secretory otitis media) Fluid must have got collected behind the ear drum for which that procedure must have been done. They would have inserted a drainage tube (called a grommet) into the ear which gets expelled on its own after some weeks. The tinnitus & vertigo that you have is not on account of the minor surgery that you have undergone. The inner ear is responsible for the two symptoms of tinnitus & vertigo. Are you a hypertensive or diabetic? The PTA is normal which means the hearing is fine. Generally Meniers disease have the three symptoms of tinnitus, vertigo & hearing loss. Taking Betahistine 48 mg one tablet in the night for 3 months should help you get the required relief in your symptoms. You might have to it for a longer time if required.
