My fraternal grand father died of schizophrenia long back before my birth. And now my maternal grand mother is suffering from schizophrenia. What is the preventive measures to be taken for this. And what are the symptoms to detect early.

Although no preventive measures could be prooved 100 percent effective, you may adopt a stress free mental health promoting lifestyle in the form of early morning awakening before sunrise, daily yoga/meditation, morning jog/walk, good nutritious diet with plenty of salads, sprouts and fruits, adequate rest, recreation and socialization, pursuing your hobbies regularly, evening games and sports and sound sleep. Early symptoms are insomnia, feeling that something sinister is going to happen, remaining aloof and withdrawn, hearing strange voices, suspecting others, poor performance at school and work and not able to take care of self.
