She needs to be on close follow up by the neurologist throughout pregnancy. Usually the course of multiple sclerosis is not worsened in pregnancy and she can continue solumedrol (prednisone) if she was taking it before pregnancy. It does not affect the baby. The baby growth needs to be monitored. She will need the steroid during labour too if she is taking it in pregnancy. She can have a normal delivery. She needs to be closely monitored till 3 months after delivery for any worsening of multiple sclerosis symptoms.
