Hi. My doctor prescribed me Maintane tablet at 38 weeks of pregnancy. I heard it's given to stop preterm by stopping uterine contraction but confused why was I given at the end of pregnancy. Please help me to understand.

Yes, Maintaine is used to reduce PreTerm labour. But Pre Term is defined as before 37 weeks. 38 weeks is a full term pregnancy, and the drug is not necessary. Please check with your doctor why she has suggested it.
