Calcium, protein and iron rich food should be taken in pregnancy- dairy products like milk, cheese, etc are rich in calcium. Green leafy vegetables, dates and meat are foods rich in iron. Egg, pulses (dhal) and meat are rich sources of protein. It's good to take iron, calcium, protein and other mineral supplements in the form of tablets/ capsules and protein powder. Foods to avoid are seafood (it may contain minerals like mercury which are harmful in pregnancy). Food from restaurants/street vendors should be avoided as far as possible to avoid food poisoning.
