I'm having throat infection. Gastroenterologist told it was GERD/LPR. ENT specialist told it was bacterial infection and suggested tonsillectomy. Don't know what to do. I'm having acid reflux and burning sensation in the middle of chest which increases after having lunch/dinner. Blood test report shows increase in the white blood cells. Don't know what to do. Throat infection (Tonsillitis) is something different and acid reflux and burning chest are two different diseases. Do accordingly.

Warm welcome to Lybrate.com I have evaluated your query thoroughly. Go for combined treatment of tonsilitis with GERD It is not mandatory to take surgery always in all tonsil conditions, if after enough medicines problem persist, then only you require surgery of tonsils. Drink more liquids. Gargles with salted lukewarm water Avoid excess sugar ,oily, spicy, non veg PPI as omeprazole morning and evening on empty stomach avoid smoking, alcohol if using most important of all is avoid stress anxiety which will delay recovery and increase GERD Hope this clears your query. Wishing you fine recovery. Welcome for any further assistance at my private URL https://www.Lybrate.com/gandhinagar/doctor/dr-bhagyesh-patel-general-surgeon Regards take care.
