I have been recommended glycomet 500 mg sr once a day. After consuming it comes out without dissolving next day. Is this indicate spurious medicine or is it feature of this medicine?

Mr. lybrate-user Thanks for the query. When extended release or sustained release Metformin tablet is being taken, some times one notices the the tablet being excreted from the stools. However, it is only containing the polymer used to make the drug release slowly in the gut. The drug is fully absorbed. It is only that polymer shell that comes out. Hence there is no reason to worry. Thanks.
