Hello, l can understand the suffering. Venous ulcers are very painful. Please understand that the ulcer will not heal until and unless the ?underlying varicose veins ? problem is tackled. She will require multiple layer compression dressings, medications and a detailed radiological investigations like Doppler scan or CT/MR Venogram to detect the actual reason for the non healing ulcer. The cause can range from due to a ?simple reversal of blood flow in the legs to a blockage in the main veins which drain the blood in the abdomen resulting in stagnation of impure blood in the legs?. Please consult a Vascular Surgeon at the earliest so that a proper evaluation can be done and your mother can be treated of her ulcer. If the cause is not treated, the ulcer will not heal or will repeatedly occur. Best wishes, take care.
