My wife had a history of endometriosis and she had medicine digest for 3 months. Luckily she got pregnant naturally very soon after the medicine course got over. She is 2 months pregnant now but have frequent brown discharge. After initial 2 or 3 discharge we immediately got it checked and the baby was healthy n fine. We believe that this frequent discharge is because of the old blood in uterus due to endometriosis. Our queries are the following 1. Is brown discharge due to endometriosis only or is it a risk factor? 2. What precautions need to be followed? 3. She has an increased libido since pregnancy so what all activities can be safely undertaken to relax the physical needs as we have been avoiding any physical acts due to the brown discharge? Thanks in advance for your support.

Get her serum progesterone levels done if it is low then she has to supplement with oral progesterone which could also be a reason of her spotting. And you need to avoid intercourse as of now. And please fix an appointment with Me.

Hi lybrate-user. Brown discharge during pregnancy has to be considered as a danger sign, whatever be the cause. Intercourse is best avoided till this problem is on.
