Hi sir, my 5 months old baby have ear pain only on some time, not even daily. My pediatrics prescribed Desol ear drops. After I search, it's not recommended for children under 18 years. Please suggest me.

Hi lybrate-user, You have mentioned your 5 months old baby has infrequent ear ache. First of all 5 mths old baby touch ther ear and cry incessantly if there is ear ache. I think you have guessed through this. And also you have not mentioned about any ear discharge present or not. Any history of ear truma or col and cough. Fever.any history of bottle feeding or not. Immunisation status. And birth history and any cleft lip or palate and other congenital anomaly. because there may be acote otitis media or otitis media with effusion. Or even hard impacted wax. Bay needs a thorough ent check up and treatment. So please do that. Because they r specialised for treating these type of cases.
