I am losing my hair for quite a long time so one day I got to know about Dr. Reddy's mintop (2/5/10)%, my friend was using it. He got very good results as he said I actually did not saw him before hair gain so can not realt see the difference. I also started using it for last 4-5 months 2% pack, but I started feeling itching on top of my ear which is a known side effect of it so that was okay but also my skin around eyes started getting dry and itchy at the start I was not getting the reason behind it. Now for last one week because of my busy schedule I was not able to apply lotion on my head and I noticed there is no itching or dry skin around my eye. Should I continue using it (this time 10%)or Do I need to stop using it? If I should stop using it what would be the alternative solutions? Thanks in advance.

Hello lybrate-user, you are right. Minoxidil will defenitely help as it works with your hair follicles, strengthens them and promotes hair growth from within. However most common side affect with it is dryness of scalp, dandruff and irritation/itching and these are due to propylene glycol present in minox which helps in penetration rather than minox itself. Same findings can occur on the face as well. Make sure the product does not leak onto your face while applying and even if it does make sure to wipe clean with a wet cloth. Also understand that just because you developed irritaion does not mean your allergic to it. Try to 1replacing the lotion with a foaming minoxidil, also look for alcohol free minoxidil solution. I would also like to suggest that a visit to a dermatologist would be rewarding as they will be able to guide you 1 whether you really require minoxidil 2 cause of your hair fall 3 give you alternate solutions as there are one too many. Hope I was able to throw some light onto your problem. Have a happy hair day.
