I am 26 years old. I have Vitamin D, 25- Hydroxy level of 4.35 ng/ml. My doctor has prescribed me astesol D3 60000 IU once a week and injection arachitol 6 Lac once a month for 3 months. Please suggest me if this is too high a dosage recommended by my doctor. I will be highly obliged.

A few years back, the recommended level was between 40 to 60 nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml), but more recently the optimal vitamin D level has been raised to 50-70 ng/ml, and when treating cancer or heart disease, as high as 70-100 ng/ml. You need this dose to get the required level in your body.
