Hello, I am 24 years old now it's has been 4 years for my marriage, but we have started for baby planning since feb 2018. We have done all necessary test required for pregnancy everything normal. When I started for baby planning my TSH was 3.94 but now it has come to normal but I have been told to continue with thyronorm tablet of 50 mcg. After being all my and husband's test normal and my periods are also regular, even though we are having relationship during the ovulation phase but still I am not conceiving. May I know what can be the reason?

Hi lybrate-user TSH of 3.94 is normal to begin with. Make sure you don’t over correct. The values are different in pregnancy and you may need supplements in pregnancy, not now. You need to understand a few basic points 1) only 15% couple conceive within one cycle of trying. The remaining 85% take up to 2 years to conceive, with everything being normal. By everything, I mean, husband semen tests normal, wife getting regular periods, and no sexual difficulties. And the couple having intercourse at least three times a week 2) you are only 24 years old. And have started planning baby's only from February. So getting investigated is unnecessary Dont overthink the process of pregnancy It is a natural thing. Make sure you take Folic acid tablets regularly, as it is important for brain and skull development of baby. Nothing else is needed. You can wait for another year before worrying. I'm sure you'll be pregnant before that Stop the thyroid tablets and get the levels tested after a month. If TSH is above 5, then you'll need supplements. Otherwise no.
