I Am suffering from herpes zoster infection on the left side of my face and also my throat and ear is also contains this disease. Complete the acyclovir schedule for 15 days. But still have swear pain and burning sensation.

Dear friend, Even though herpes infection is treated with acyclovir, it’s affection of the sensory nerve cause a painful condition called post herpetic neuralgia, which sometimes may have a protracted course. As a basic management of this condition you need to be taking neuropathic pain relievers like carbamazepine/ oxcarbazepine/ gabapentin etc or opoids in severe conditions. Simultaneously, triggers like touch / cold exposure of the affected area need to be avoided. Please attend your Neurologist for the management and guidance. Wish you get relief from your pain at earliest.
