Sir my friend has gone to a massage parlour yesterday. He already has a skin abrasions near the gluteal cleft because of itching with his nails. He says that it was reddish but no visible active bleeding, with this he visited a massage parlour and the masseuse while giving a massage accidentally massaged touching the abrasion many times, however he says that there is no active bleeding in the hands of masseuse. Questions are 1. Is he at risk of getting HIV 2. Is this a mode of transmission 3. What if she had some kind of old cuts due to nail bites. 4. For a transmission to occur both should be profusely bleeding is it right or wrong .please kindly relieve his anxiety.

Dear user. Thanks for the question. HIV spread through Contact between broken skin, wounds, or mucous membranes and HIV-infected blood or blood-contaminated body fluids. Deep, open-mouth kissing if both partners have sores or bleeding gums and blood from the HIV-positive partner gets into the bloodstream of the HIV-negative partner. HIV is not spread through saliva.
