My father is suffering from pancreatic cancer stage 3 as it is not operable. He is diabetic for the last 45 years. His age is 81 & general condition is good as verified by Oncologist M.D. What are the pros & cons of 1. Chemotherapy 2. Radiotherapy 3. No treatment. 4. Is radiotherapy & chemotherapy both together is recommended for 81 years old whose general condition is good. 5. Quality of life will be good with or without treatment. Regards A D Somkuwar <mobile>

Usually at this age Chemotherapy is avoided as they don't tolerate. Radiotherapy can be given, which he might tolerate. And it might keep the cancer in control for few months hence quality of life can be maintained for few months if he successfully completes Radiotherapy.
