Hello, Doctor my wife is 12 week pregnant and her HCV is positive so it?s transfer to my baby or not or any medicine for this problem.

Hello lybrate-user, HCV is viral that mainly affects liver. It gets transmitted through blood, sexual contact. Treatment can be given before pregnancy. Medicine available at present can not be given during pregnancy, not safe. Chances to infection to your baby is 1-10%. Some precautions required that will be taken care by your gynecologist. U need to undergo HCV RNA test and liver function test to prevent further complications. Connect of having any further queries. Have a healthy pregnancy.
