I have beginning otitis externa (swimmers ear). Is there anything I can do in terms of self-treatment (besides keeping the ear away from water) or do I have to see a specialist? Does putting oil into the ear help?

Don't put oil in your ear. U need to see a specialist because you never know where the infection is, it can be in external ear only but it can go to middle or internal ear also, which is dangerous.
