My father (53) has been diagnosed with TB through Line Assay Probe and is on medication since 20 days. However, he has been developing fever and shortness of breath everyday and is on nasal oxygen and nebulization. CT scan prior to TB diagnosis says reticular opacities in all zones of bilateral lungs and mediastinal adenopathy. Features of ILD. Bronchoscopy was advised by one doctor (who referred us to another hospital), it was deemed unnecessary by another. How can I know if fever is due to TB or due to ILD. And how can I know the extent of lung damage due to ILD? Which is dangerous, TB or ILD? Did TB cause lung scarring or did ILD cause vulnerability to TB? And are all forms of ILD dangerous?
