Hi, I have a question about TB about education and awareness about TB. I recently attended funeral of distant relative person who was in ICU and suffering from brain TB. Is brain TB contagious by air? If yes, doctors should have given special instructions for precautions. Cause I saw dead body was handled as usual without any precautions in a closed van. Please elaborate to increase awareness. Thanks.

Dear lybrate-user, Pulmonary TB and laryngeal TB are contagious as they are spread by air droplets. Only hairs and nails are the body organs which are spared by TB. Rest all organs can be affected by TB and they are not contagious.
