Hi doctors, I have been infected with uti by klebsiella ESBL bacteria. So my doctor is giving Amikacin iv 1gm per day for five days. Which is sensitive medicine to that bacteria. Just I wanted to know how long will that medicine take to cure the infection. Please someone help me by saying reaction time and about Amikacin medicine.

Amikacin is mostly used for treating severe infections with multidrug-resistant, aerobic Gram-negative bacteria. Usually in combination with other antibiotic. Consult with your urine culture report.
