I have prescribed tenvir by a hiv specialist as a prep medicines. There is also tenvir em which is widely use as prep. I was keen on going but doc suggested me to go for temvir l as it does not have much damage on renal function n affordable as well. Could you pls suggest me if which one is better and which one gives good results.

Hello. The information given to him was correct. He is writing trade names and he was prescribed tnf and 3 tc (lamivudine) but he wants ftc (emtricitabine) saying that his friends use it. Please see his msg. He writes tenvir em and than writes tenvir l (these are 2 differnt brands as you must be knowing well, with emtricitabine in em brand and lamivudine in l brand ,from same manuf. The pt wants tnf and ftc and not 3tc as his friends use tnf and ftc and not 3tc. Who recommends both the combination. He was never told to use single drug even though who has given tnf alone too it as 2nd option. Please kindly read the msg well before giving mislesding info. Thanks. Please ask the patient to show you the proscription as a proof. That he was given 2 drug combination not a single drug combination.
