Hi, Amisulpride or clozapine, Which medication is better for negative schizophrenia according to years clinical experience? Specially for the symptom evolution, I don't have any delusion or hallucinations.

Dear Rahul, Clozapine is used mostly in treatment resistant schizophrenia. Because of serious side effects that it may give, its use is restricted. Amisulpride can be used in low dose along with other antipsychotics. Its side effects also need to be looked into. The best, first line treatment, is psychosocial rehabilitation. It has to be tailored to your needs.

There is no single drug as good or bad, different people respond to different medications for negative symptoms, so explain the nature of the negative symptoms to the psychiatrist and let him decide based on his experience, your body weight, medical condition, etc. All the best.
