My mother was diagnosed with bilateral breast carcinoma a month and a half ago that has spread to her lymph nodes, neck and bones. Her pet scan says "wide spread osseous lesions of increased fdg uptake, they are seen involving distal left humerus, bilateral proximal femoral shafts, femoral necks, left distal femoral shaft, sternum, right 9th tib anteriorly, dv8, lv5, s1, s2, bilateral iliac boned as well as the right alum of the sacrum, largest is seen at the latter position measuring about 1812 mm with suv max. 9.7" she started feeling a shoulder lump on her right side around 6 to 7 months ago this lump reached her neck yet she started hormone treatment only a week ago which is very late. Her doctor prescribed her pharocal, letrozole and vitamin d. However, her already large neck lump is getting even larger and it has reached beneath her earlobe, so does this mean that her treatment isn't working?
