My brother is 34 years old and 43 kg in weight and around 162 cm in height. He has accidentally drunk some acidic detergent (alkaline/caustic) which is used to clean the floor. Now he is suffering from severe dysphagia from the beginning for six months. Doctors have done balloon dilation and standing (16 cm to 41 cm. 40-goj, two stents). But no stable improvement. finally, they have suggested doing esophagectomy. He will be admitted to the hospital and care for him until he is prepared for the surgery. Surgery will be done by consultant oncological surgeon. Is it safe to do esophagectomy? What are the complications? How much death rate? Is oncological surgeon ok to do it? Thank you very much.
