I am being treated for pcod, in my hormonal profile- tsh is at 6.15, i'm 26 y/o and weigh 45 kgs. I'm prescribed thyronorm 25 mcg, does my thyroid level need this supplement? If I once start it, will I have to continue it life long or it can be stopped if my reports get better? Also my prolactin is at 25.45 and I have been prescribed cabergoline .25 mg once a week, is this required at my test result? Is this also a life long medicine? How soon can it be withdrawn?

TSH 6.15 is suggestive of slightly low thyroid hormone in circulation.Since your doctor has after your clinical evaluation suggested thyronorm 25 microgram daily,it is advisable to take medicine and repeat TSH after 6 weeks to know its effect. Regarding medicine for high prolactin level you should discuss all your querries with your treating doctor who can answer you in a better way.
