Dear lybrate-user, it is very thoughtful of you to consult a doctor to get out of your emotional problems. Mixed anxiety depressive disorder and major depressive disorders are recurrent disorders. You need antidepressant treatment to reduce your anxiety, fear, weakness and tiredness. Please take it again. You will become alright again. I am sure your doctor excluded other medical and endocrine causes for your problems. Depression does not hit only homeless or penniless persons. It can show up in any person. Dear, as I was reading your question, I really felt the urge to share this that, if we are undergoing any mental or health issues we should never avoid going to the doctors and medicines. It is a good decision. Along with this we need to realize that medicine create a space in the body where healing can be done. If we do not make use of that time after having medicines, the disease can reoccur. So in your case, as you mentioned diabetes too. The most important thing along with medicines is walk / breathing exercises /yoga/ or anything you are comfortable with. And it should be in continuation, even when you are cured from the problem. I will like to suggest that never hesitate to take counseling along with medicines of depression. It can be well treated with therapies.

Dear lybrate-user, it's good you reached out to someone during that challenging period. However, I should also let you know that it's very important to go for counseling sessions, for medication and counseling sessions go hand in hand. Along with that I would recommend you to start with some basic breathing exercises like pranayam, anulom vilom; engage in some physical exercises like yoga, walking etc and above all, start with counseling sessions which will help you to help yourself.
