I am taking metformin 500 morning and night. Glucose level is stabilised after two months. But feeling hungry from 10 am to 6 pm. Hba1c is 7.2.fbs 130 and bps 230. Unable to reduce fbs below 130. Feeling hungry below this level body tired. Whether I can reduce morning dose to 250 mg metformin. Geriatric specialist says 130 is normal. Kindly advice.

I think you should continue same dose because your pp blood sugar is 230 when you feel hungry.Get random blood sugar at 4 or 5PM also and inform.

Normal fasting sugar levels must be less than 120 and pp less than 160. Target hba1c should be less than 6.5. Do not reduce the dose.
