I am having a anal abscess which is treated by gp with ciprofloxacin 500 mg and metronidazole 500 mg tabs along with a topical cream of fusidic acid 2%.the abscess didn't heal and after review he is asking me to go to a surgeon to remove the abscess by incision, is this needed please advise. Thanks.
