Dear doctor my left ear is blocked past 1 month. Local doctor gave ofloxacin ear drops stating it is due to cold. But it has become worse and now I could barely hear. Is it possible to clear the blockage? I have booked an appointment tmrw. Please let me know.

Ear blockage because of cold cannot be cleared by ear drop. By your history it can be three things, either wax which has to be cleaned, or middle ear effusion for which oral meds and nasal drops should be started, the most drearded is nerve damage due to viral infection involving the auditary nerve for which urgent meds needs to be started. So my advise would be, donot waste your time and go to an ent specialist.
